| About the PS - | Kharagpur (Town) PS start functioning from 07.03.1950, vide G.O No-647 (PL) dt. 07.03.1950 before that there was only one Police Station (Kharagpur Police Station). Kharagpur P.S was divided into Kharagpur (Town) Ps and Kharagpur (Local) Ps. Kharagpur (Town) Ps started functioning with a jurisdiction of 32.53 sq km under Kharagpur Municipality area and 40 sq km under Railway area. The Municipality area falls under the jurisdiction of Ward Nos. 1 to 35 out of them 10,11,34,35 are falls under KGP(L) PS.
