| About the PS - | Gurguripal PS belongs to Medinipur Sadar Sub-division in the district of Paschim Medinipur. This Ps is consisting with only 04 (four) Gram Panchayat and mostly part of this Ps is covered by dense forest. The Kangsaboti river is running away on this PS area and made a natural border with Lalgarh, Jhargram and KGP (L) Ps area. Kotwali, Salboni, Jhargram, Lalgarh and KGP (L) are the neighboured PS of Gurguripal PS. The Gurguripal PS is also highlighted for Gopegarh Echo Park, Gurguripal Echo Park and Monidaha Echo Park and among them Gopegarh Echo Park is a Heritage site. As per local legend this place was part of King Birat in Mahabharata and according to archaeological detail in Ain-E-AkbariGopegarh fort was one of the two fort oldest forts in Midnapore Pargana. |
